About Jerry
Welcome to the BIZ OPS GUY.
I’m Jerry and would love to help you and your
organization. Over the years, I’ve learned a few things and have compiled a nifty
bag of tricks that help businesses and leaders deliver impressive results.
I’m a Tech Industry leader when it comes to Operations, Strategy and Organization
Design. I graduated from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business in 2014 and
have had an amazing run thus far. Most recently I served as the VP of Operations
at ChargeLab, a rapidly growing Electric Vehicle SAAS solution Start-up. Prior to
joining ChargeLab in April 2022, I was the Head of Strategy and Operations at
Particle, a Series-C Start-up in San Francisco. I joined Particle in March 2019 to
build the Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain functions for scale after spending
five years at Apple. While at Apple, I was the Business Operations Manager for
Apple Watch and iPod, owning the relationship between the China-based factories
and Apple. After the successful launch of Watch Series 3, I transitioned to the
Special Projects Team at Apple as a Global Supply Manager leading multiple focus
areas, including Product Structures, Materials and Engineering Services procured
from suppliers across Europe.
I began my career after matriculating from the University of California, Berkeley,
where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language and Cognitive
Science. Prior to my MBA, I was with Deloitte in San Francisco for over seven
years. While at the firm, I was consistently assigned to deliver and lead projects
for the firm’s highest profile clients. I served as my service line’s lead Global
Manager on the Oracle, Disney, HP, Intel, and Apple accounts. I have a growth
mindset having built the Apple engagement from one workstream valued at $100K
per year to five workstreams valued at over $2.5M per year.
Outside of the work that pays the bills, I am currently the President of the Board of
Directors of Home for a Home, a 501c3 non-profit focused on providing homes for
families in Guatemala. I have been a musician since the 3rd grade and continue to
artistically express myself as a Science Fiction/Fantasy writer. I hail from Compton,
California and now call the city of San Francisco his home.
One of the most important skills I’ve gained through all of these amazing
experiences is the ability to listen and have developed my tried and true practice
of Jerapy.
“Jerapy” sessions are my own personal way of helping people assess problems,
get to the root cause and plan strategic solutions. They are used early and often to
gain insights, set strategy, and yes, vent frustrations. I can’t guarantee that I can
solve every problem, but after Jerapy, you’ll feel better and I hope you’ll have
laughed out loud at least one time.
